Konstantin Taffet: First place in the “Jugend musiziert” (Youth Makes Music) competition ✨ 🎻

On January 24, 2025, it was that time again: I participated in the youth music competition “Jugend musiziert” in Rathenow. After so much hard work, I was excited to finally present my pieces from the Classical, Romantic, and Baroque periods, accompanied by piano, to the jury.

What I found particularly valuable, besides all the other experiences, was the detailed and well-founded feedback from the jury. They gave me fresh perspectives on my violin playing and provided concrete suggestions for how I can continue to improve.

I was also delighted to meet so many wonderful people or reconnect with familiar faces.

All five of my participations in the competition so far – four in the solo violin category and once as part of an ensemble – have helped me grow, gain experience, and constantly improve. A big thank you to my mom, my violin teacher, my piano accompanist, my music school, the entire “Jugend musiziert” team, and everyone else who has supported my participation in the competition up until now. I’m incredibly grateful for everything I’ve been able to learn and take away from this experience.

And now, the result. What does the jury think of me? What does a jury of professionals say about my violin playing and my performance? Did I win first prize again, even though the standards have risen significantly due to the higher age category? The answer:

Yes, I actually managed to win first prize again! Thank you so much to the jury!
